ECO 4812 delivers a range of base fog densities and Dmax values on both glossy fiber-based and RC-based papers, ranging from 0.00 to 0.02 for base fog and 2.00 to 2.30 for Dmax, depending on the type of paper used. The highest Dmax, and consequently the widest contrast range with full shadow separation, can be achieved when using one of the following well-known paper series: Ilford Multigrade RC V, Fiber Classic, Fomabrom, Adox MCC, and others.
The typical dilution ratio is 1+14, with a development time of 2½ to 3 minutes. However, if you opt for a dilution of 1+10 and develop for just 2 minutes with the same exposure times, you’ll experience an increase in contrast.
The stock solution boasts a shelf life of 4 years, but once opened and depending on the remaining quantity in the bottle, this duration reduces to approximately 2 years. Meanwhile, the working solution remains viable for 8 months when stored in a bottle. Each liter of stock solution can process around 400 sheets of 24×30 cm paper.
